Makeup Must Haves For Beginners.

Categories Beauty, Makeup

Hello beautiful people! 😀

I hope you guys have been well because I know I am. 😛 Today was amazing, I passed my neurology final exam & finally manage to relax over the weekend before a new cycle starts.

Anyway, today I am here to share some makeup must haves for beginners. If you are new to makeup/didn’t want to spend too much time & money then this is definitely a post for you. 😀

Face makeup:

If you just venture into makeup & you’re not ready to put a full face of foundation definitely start with concealers. Find the right shade for you & conceal any blemishes/dark spots/areas prone to redness. I recommend the Maybelline’s Better Skin Concealer. I’ve repurchased countless amount of tubes of these. It gives a light to medium coverage. Overall a good drugstore concealer & the price is reasonable too! 🙂

For under eye concealer I recommend choosing a shade lighter than your actual skin colour. You want to give a highlighted under eye look to make you look more awake. If you have dry under eye go for this Benefit’s Fake Up concealer. I personally have combination skin but this concealer is perfect during the colder months. But I definitely can’t wear this during spring/summer, it’ll melt in no time because it’s super hydrating. 😛

If you want your concealer to stay on longer I suggest getting a finishing powder. Definitely a must have if you have combination to oily skin. It is a life saver! 😀 Currently I’ve been using this Tarte’s Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder. This powder is without the ingredient talc because I think my skin is allergic to talc. 🙁

I typically use it under my eye & also my T zone because it is the most oiliest part of my face.

If you have never gotten your brows done I highly recommend eyebrow threading. I find my eyebrows does not grow back as fast plus it is super natural. If you haven try it you should! 😀

If you are new to doing your brows I recommend using pencil instead of gel/pomade because it is the easiest to work with. Just make sure you go really light handed as you can always work with the intensity later on. Buy something that comes with a spoolie at the end, definitely a life saver design. 😛

Eye makeup:

You can skip this step if you want. But if you want to give some depth/colour to your eye, this Maybelline’s Colour Tattoo in the shade “On & On Bronze” is the way to go! 🙂 It gives a natural taupey finish. You can build up the intensity to your liking plus it’s super easy to use. I usually smudge it all over my eyelids with my fingers. 😀

To top off the eye makeup I always use this Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara. I’ve tried different drugstore to high end mascaras this is by far my favorite. Gives me the perfect length & volume. No smudging, no transferring & easily removed by cleansing oil. I cannot rave enough about this mascara. 🙂

If you ask me I am not much of a blusher kind of girl. I prefer to put highlighter on because it gives you the natural, glowy & radiance look to your face. 😀 If you’ve been following my blog you know how much I talk about this Colourpop’s “Lunch Money”. I alternate between this highlighter & Lush’s Feeling Younger Skin Tint.

Last but definitely not the least, lipstick! 😀 I remember my first ever lipstick was from Mac in the shade “Coral Bliss”. That was when I first started venturing into makeup & lipsticks. I was too shy to try it on my lips in store so I just bought it & of course I regretted it. My first lipstick experience wasn’t the greatest but as you can see I wasn’t discouraged by that. I have quite a collection of lipsticks now. 😛

Tip: Definitely do not feel shy to try out shades in stores especially if you are new to this. Don’t be afraid to test out different shades to see which suits you the best. Bring a friend along to help you decide too! 😀

My personal favorite for natural makeup days is definitely Mac’s Taupe. As you can see from the picture this lipstick is very well loved. & I only use it for a year & it is almost gone. 🙁 To be on the safe side, get a “my lips but better” shade. With that you will never go wrong. 🙂

So this conclude my makeup must haves for beginners. I tried to include products that range from drugstore to high end. These products are absolutely my favorite. If you know me personally I basically put on the same thing every single day/days when I wear makeup. So I hope some of you found some tips & have fun shopping!
