I was actually inspired by my previous post to make this blog post. 😛 I was talking about how some products deserve so much attention considering their price point & how well they performed. So I thought a post about underrated makeup products would be perfect because I love them dearly & I think they deserve some rave/spotlight. 😀
First I would like to talk about this Lush’s Feeling Younger Skin Tint. This was actually my first highlighter that I bought & I love it so much til to this day. 🙂
As you can see it gives a really natural glow & a little goes a long way with this product. The only downside to this product is the shelf life. Because it is made from fresh & natural ingredients, they don’t last too long. 🙁 Even though it has been almost a year my pot still looks good as new.
You can use this to highlight your cheeks, brow bone & etc. Or you can also mix a little with your foundation & it gives you a natural dewy & glowy skin. 🙂
If you are looking for a good ingredient highlighter/skin tint I definitely recommend this one.
Next is actually a finishing powder. “Baking” as been a thing for quite some time & I see a lot of beauty gurus rave about the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I was initially put off by the price & it gave me even more reasons not to get it because it contains “talc”. 🙁
This Tarte’s Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Setting Powder is much cheaper. I cannot compare how well they both works because I’ve never tried the Laura Mercier one but I think you wouldn’t get disappointed with this product. It gives me a smooth & perfect skin finished. I don’t have to worry my concealer creasing, my makeup stayed longer & my face is less oilier.
Plus a little goes a long way with this product. I’ve been using this every single day for almost half a year & I still have a ton of product left. 😛
I was finding for some dupes for Mac’s lipsticks & that is how I came across Nyx’s Matte Lipsticks collection. The first lipstick I bought from this range was “Whipped Caviar”. I was looking for a natural pink shade which I can wear daily & a lot of people actually said it is a dupe for Mac’s “Brave”. So if you are finding for a dupe or a natural shade in general I highly recommend this lipstick.
As you can see it is super pigmented. It has a matte finished to it & also very comfortable on the lips. It does have a chemical scent if you smell it straight from the tube but it doesn’t linger after you apply it on your lips. & don’t you agree it is such a gorgeous shade? 🙂
I am happy with the price & how well it performed. I’ve seen lip swatches on YouTube but not many people actually rave & talk about them. 🙁
If you read my previous post you already know how much I love this one. I was so happy I found this shade & knowing I don’t have to feel guilty to splurge on something expensive instead. This is the Nyx’s Matte Lipstick in the shade “Crazed”.
It feels exactly same like Whipped Caviar. Comfortable on the lips, does not cling onto dry areas, very pigmented. I intend to buy more lipsticks from this range. If you haven check them out you really should! They have wide range of colours. From nude all the way to dark bold colours. 😀
I was doing some research online before getting my first Smashbox’s Be Legendary Matte Lipstick. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a lot of reviews on them. But I still got it anyways & never regretted.
The first shade that I got was “Publicist” from their matte collection. It is a beautiful bright fuchsia colour but at the same time not too in your face. 😛 This shade is perfect during the spring & summer time. It reminds me of flowers blooming! Such a positive & fun colour to wear during the warmer months. 😀
Plus these lipsticks retail much cheaper than Mac’s lipsticks. At least it is here in Russia. I was surprised how not many YouTubers are talking/raving about them. They are creamy, pigmented, comfortable on the lips & the packaging is a bonus! 🙂
My local beauty store was having discount last month & I saw the Smashbox’s lipsticks were included in the sales as well. Considering I had positive result from my first lipstick in this range of course I had to get another one. 😛
This is in the shade “Made It”. The perfect wine red lipstick. I haven been wearing it as much as I intend to. 🙁 For some reason these days I am gravitating more towards natural makeup. But trust me, on days when I feel bold I will either grab this or the one from Nyx. 😛
Seriously girls, if you haven check out the Smashbox’s Be Legendary Lipsticks you really should. I am not paid/sponsored to say this (even though I wish I am :P) But in my honest opinion they are really really good. 🙂
So this sums up my underrated makeup products. I intend to do more blog posts like this in the future when I discover more products that I think deserve more talks & spotlight. Hope you guys have a great weekend ahead,x.
