Aesop Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque Review.

Categories Beauty, Lifestyle, Review, Skincare

I literally have a bag full of sample products from different skincare companies & I thought I might want to start a series of reviewing them & let you guys know if it is worth it to run out the door to purchase the full sizes. 🙂 Plus I really appreciate companies who are generous with their samples before you putting in your money & later find out it didn’t work for you. 🙁

Today I am going to review this Aesop Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque. It is a clay mask which I am all about! It says single application per sachet but I normally can have two applications per sachet. 🙂

This product is pretty easy to apply. It is not as thick as normal clay mask out there. & this is definitely the most light weight clay mask I’ve ever tried. Just like any products from Aesop, this clay mask has an earthy herbal scent to it. It is quite strong as most of their products are pretty heavily scented. But it fades quickly after application.

What the company says?

This clarifying clay formulation decongests and refreshes skin while delivering optimal hydration. Its inclusion of Vitamin E ensures skin isn’t left stripped of moisture. Ideal for oily, combination or neglected skin.

Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Bentonite, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Pelargonium Graveolens Extract, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool.

I might not look the greatest here. Apologize for those eye bags, dark circles & pimples. 🙁

Upon drying I notice this mask gives off a cooling feeling which I find it quite soothing. It says to leave it up to 15 minutes but I normally leave clay masks on up to 20 – 30 minutes depending on my skin condition.

What I think about this product?

The first product I got from this brand is their Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque. I walked in store wanted to get the primrose one but instead the SA said it is better for my skin type to get the chamomile one. Unfortunately that product did nothing for my skin & I splurged my money on something that did nothing to my skin. 🙁

I prefer this mask over the chamomile one any time. After washing off my skin feels so much smoother & brighter. I kid you not, like baby bottom smooth. It doesn’t break me out/gives me any allergic reaction despite it being quite heavily scented. But, this is not my favorite mask out there.

I am not too sure what is the original price in Malaysia but from their website this retails for AU$ 45 in a 60 ml jar. Is it worth it? For me probably not. I know I can’t be using this product as often as how I use my Kiehl’s clay mask because I am going to run out of it too quickly! 🙁 But I think this is a good mask for days when you want to pamper yourself & use something different than your normal skincare routine.

Will I recommend to others? If you are considering to get either the chamomile/primrose mask, definitely go for this one. Or if you have extra money to splurge definitely check this product out. It is not the best mask I’ve tried but definitely makes me feel very pampered & luxurious whenever I use their skincare products.

I hope you guys find this post helpful & have a great weekend! 😀
